You have a choice and if you can let your negative thoughts and feelings take over your life and prevent you from feeling happy and healthy, or you can learn how to manage them so they don’t control your life. These tips on mental health will help you move toward a happier and healthier life:
Breathe
Breathing is a great way to start your day and relax and it can help you feel more calm, relaxed and focused on the present moment.
● When you feel stressed or anxious, try taking deep breaths in through your nose, hold for a few seconds then slowly breathe out through your mouth until all of the air has been expelled from your lungs. Repeat this exercise several times until you feel calmer and more relaxed.
● If you’re having trouble sleeping at night because of stress or anxiety then try doing some deep breathing exercises before going to bed at night.
This will help clear away any negative thoughts so that when it’s time for sleep they are no longer keeping you awake
Give Yourself A Break
You’re human, you make mistakes, you feel overwhelmed, and sometimes it can feel like the world is against you, and that’s okay said Dr Charles Noplis . It’s important to give yourself permission to be imperfect and even more importantly, take time out for yourself.
It’s easy when things are going well in life to forget that we need regular breaks from stressors like work or school and social life. But these things add up over time and can cause burnout if not taken care of early enough on in the process so make sure to schedule some me-time into your week.
Exercise In Nature
It is a great way to get the body moving and boost your mood, it can be an excellent outlet for stress and anxiety, as well as an opportunity for self-care.
The natural world is filled with beauty and inspiration, which can help us feel more connected to our surroundings and here are some tips:
● Find a trail that feels safe and inviting, not too crowded or long
● Bring along water, sunscreen, snacks or energy bars if needed and don’t forget your cell phone
